About the choir

Headchorister Lily (r) and Deputy Wessel
Formed in the mid 1850s, the choir has a long tradition of high-quality choral music. Singers are robed and - numbers allowing - are arranged into 'sides', Cantoris and Decani. This enables the choir to tackle double choir music and to sing psalms antiphonally.

The choir provides an exciting way of developing musical skill in members of all ages - statistically, children who are members of choirs do better in school in all subjects. The social life of the choir is equally important - we have social events throughout the year.

The choir is supported financially by the Friends of All Saints Music (FASM) who provide for the robes, music and social life of the choir via fund raising events such as concerts and organ recitals. The Friends also subsidise our annual Choir Camp and our scholarships.
